G230RC 1 G23LH Big-Bore Kit - Key Things ta Know
Use gasoline at least 95 octane or higher. Due to the high compression of
this kit, low octane gasoline can cause detonation (premature ignition), which will severely damage yoor engine. Octan~boosters and other gasoline additives are not recommended. High-octane gasoline is available at many gas stations and also at most motorcycle shops.
Use a 25: 1 gas/oil ratio. This is 5 ounces of oil per gallon of gasoline. DOM recommends the top-quality AMSOIL 2-stroke oil found here: http://www.davesmotors.com/store/product649.html
These kits increase engine power and heat. You may want to install a - G230RC cool head - for additional cooling. You can find this part here: http://www.davesmotors.com/store/product47.htm 1
Carburetor tuning is very important. Carb settings too lean (jet turned too far c1ockwise, Le. too far closed) can result in insufficient cooling and cause the engine to seize.
If using the HP carb (Walbro WA-167):
Set low jet at least 1 1/4 turns out (counterclockwise).
Set high jet at least 3/4 turns out (counterclockwise).
If using the RC carb (Walbro WT-603) (Walbro WT- 668):
Set low jet at least 1 1/4 turns out(counterclockwise).
Set high jet at least 1 1/4 turns out(counterclocl<wise).
When installing, the arrow on the piston points toward the exhaust.
Always allow the engine to idle for 30 seconds to warm up before use, and idle for 30 seconds to cool down before shutting off.
Note: This high-performance product is sold without warranty.
