ESP championship ported engine rebuild
I did wonder how come my esp engine has no good low end when i did drive it
yesterday..
So i did open the engine and did rebuild it today..
First thin i noticed that oil seals were let some water in, since i was running my baja in snow yesterday..
My crank case is made by cy, so the quality is what it is..
Also changed new clutch housing because one thread were run out on one corner.
Reason why there was not low end was seized piston....
Lucky me that the cylinder had no injury of that..
I used viton oil seals, best there is.
Also put new bearings on the engine and i used team fast eddy bearings.
Last time i build this engine i used that black gasket between cylinder and case and it let the squish about 0,62mm, so i dropped that even smaller by using 0,15mm copper gasket, now the squish is 0,50mm.
There is still -0,20mm too much air between piston and cylinder top, but i did not had so thin gasket on my box, so i am going to try that now.
Must say that the compression is now really hard, and i bet that the engine has more that low end grunt now than it has never had before..
Gizmo motors have even thinner copper gaskets, so if i need more compression to my engine, all buy that 0,10mm gasket or go grazy and use gasket at all, but just hylomar on to the gasket and then the squish is 0,35mm, but then we are so close to the minimum as we can...
Hope that i could take test drive tomorrow, but it looks outside now - 20´celsius, so if it´s not get higher it will be some other day..
